A UNIQUELY COOKTOWN MUSICAL CELEBRATION

For lovers of music, art and botany, the Cooktown Cantata is set to be a magical celebrating that celebrates the life and work of the artist and local Cooktown resident Vera Scarth-Johnson, her friendship with the Guugu Yimithirr artist and Elder, Tulo Gordon, and Vera’s fascination with the naturalist, Joseph Banks,

Specially commissioned for the Cooktown & Cape York Expo, these songs of love, place, and identity will be performed amongst Vera’s paintings in the gallery dedicated to her at Nature’s Powerhouse, in the grounds of the spectacular Cooktown Botanic Gardens, and is shaping up to be an event that’s not to be missed!
